May be a movement of a larger piece (of course). Well, now, I've been looking for this... The first violin part of an orchestral version of this can be found at LoC, by the way - see here. It's possible that neither this piano version nor the orchestral version was Hiller's original conception/orchestration and that both were later versions/editions/arrangements by others; I don't know for certain what the original form is, however. One can say though that it was published "by 1883" (at latest...) as that was when the version at LoC was published, anyway. - Schissel
