Numberings of Anzoletti's works

Marco Anzoletti's works are most of the time including the exact date to the composition. However, it is also aware that the works most of the time does not include a valid numbering, or sometimes even false numbering from the date/the keys. Thus, this page is created so that people may understand the basic logic behind the numbering I created in the past 1 year.

The criteria

Generally, for work genres that are consisted of no or little undated works (e.g. Symphony), the priority would be:

1. The exact date
2. for undated work, following the year range from Biblioteca Digitale Trentina / Trentino Digital Library to approximate the possible range.
3. Consider the numbering from the manuscript/copyist score: For instance, scores from Violin Sonata No.3 in F major, which shown numbering of No.3, only indicates the 1894, while Violin Sonata No.4 in F major, which shows No.4 from scores, is dated at 1894/06/11.
4. Then numbering from the earliest to latest, with undated work assuming to be the latest possible date, or 1 year prior. (e.g. 1900-1910 ca. work would consider as 1910/12/31 or 1909/12/31.) with consideration of 3, and to have as much dated work connected as possible.
5. If multiple works in same genre are composed in same date (normally due to 3.,4.), I would check individually to see which is first, or whether I should place it outside of the genre. (like Symphony in D minor) It may differ from case to case.

For work genres that are consisted of a lot of undated works (e.g. Piano Trios), the numbering would be key-based.

1. Categorize in keys (If not definable in 1 key, then pick the first obvious key.)
2. Ordering in date. This is same as to 2.-5. in that priority list, just that the name would be like Trio No.1 for Violin, Cello and Piano in G major.

Actual situation

Symphony

Marco Anzoletti has 11 works that are entitled Symphony by Anzoletti himself (indicated mostly by red canyon) or 2 editors that handled his works (in blue ball pens or black inks sometimes). Those are luckily dated. 1 of the work is considered as Symphony, and I exclude it from numbering due to the lack of support.

Piano Quintet and Sextet

Piano Quintets are all dated, but Piano Sextets are not. However, since manuscripts have stated the numberings, I just follow what those numberings stated (since there really are just 2 existing Sextets currently, and the numbering goes up to 2.)

Violin Sonata

This one is a huge mess, thanks to my past overlook. So, most of the numberings are already checked, with 28 Violin Sonatas. Apart from No.3, No.28 (undated) is also sure to be the No.28.
However No.7 and No.8 cannot be well checked, albeit having the numbering. (Violin Sonata in C minor and Violin Sonata in F minor).

Violin Concerto

Anzoletti has 16 works with violin solo part that entitled Concerto, 15 of which are dated. The undated work is Violin Concerto in D major, which actually is entitled Concerto in Re in Tre Tempi, different from other 15 works which directly stated Concerto (...) per Violino. Thus the work is excluded from the numbering. (The shown name Violin Concerto in D major is made by IMSLP admin...)

String Quartet

There are 15 String Quartets that attributed to Anzoletti, with 4 of them undated and 1 of them lacking actual date (December 1906 only). I do have struggle on determining 3 of the undated, which is stated 1900-1910 ca.... I will try to determine them. Other would be in numbering order.
Edit: There actually are 16 sq. 1 more sq as a strange, weird sq that is lack of signature... I am not gonna assign that work to the numbering =.=

Overture

There are 6 overtures, with 4 of them dated, 1 of them only having month and date, lacking year, and 1 of them undated. Since Anzoletti has a huge tendency of composing stuff in a row, the one lacking year is set to be No.2 due to the date. Notice that this might not be the actual order.
