John Bland was a London engraver, printer, music seller and publisher, probably a relation of Anne Bland. He was trading from 1776-1795. When Joseph Haydn visited London, Bland hosted him at his house over the music shop for a while. He died or ceased trading in late 1794.
The business premises and remaining stock (including 12,000 engraved plates) then passed into the hands of Lewis, Houston and Hyde, who sold in 1797 to Francis Linley. In 1798 William Hodsoll took over the premises, succeeded by Zenas Trivett Purday in 1831.
