Misc. Notes Because most of my transcriptions are never heard before, I decided to make a simple computer synthesized audio file for hearing control.

Navigation etc.

  • The Battell, T 441 seems to have been inspired by The Image of Irelande, with a Discoverie of Woodkarne a series of engravings by John Derricke published in 1581 depicting Henry Sidney's campaign of 1578 against Turlough Luineach O'Neill, King of Tyrone. In numerous arrangements and recordings, the adjacent works found in the 1591 My Ladye Nevells Booke collection - The Marche before the Battell, T 485 (No.3) and The Galliard for the Victorie, T 463 (No.5) are included to form a "Battle Suite".
