This was written in 1735 for the Pieta in Venice and so the "female chorus" tag has been used. It also exists in a later version, revised by Hasse himself, to include a more standard vocal ensemble of SATB soloists and choir and a larger orchestra. The autograph manuscript for this second version dates from around 1745-1760.
