Navigation etc.

This Menuet assumed to be by Babell comes from the Coke/Handel manuscript 1275 and is part of the final lesson in G major from an unpublished collection of arrangements similar to his Suits of the Most Celebrated Lessons. The remaining movements of this lesson or suite (without the prelude) were also published as part of John Walsh’s unauthorised ‘Second Volume’ of Handel’s harpsichord music. However their presence in the newly discovered Bergamo manuscript gives further evidence to believing that these pieces are actually by Babell rather than Handel.
