  • Also attributed to Cabezon? Also the basis of a mass more definitely (I think?) attributed to Crecquillon (Missa Je prens en gre.) - ES
DIAMM has manuscripts in which chansons by this name are attributed to several people including Clemens non papa, but not to Crecquillon. Whether they are believed now to be by Crecquillon and on what grounds is a question that requires other material &c, of course...
Grove Music puts this in Crequillon's "misattributed" list and has the following comment: "(also attrib. Clemens, Janequin, Baston; probably by Clemens)". Whether or not that is sufficient for moving this to Jacobus Clemens non Papa's page is another question. Incidentally, at this point there is no issue with duplicate files on different composers' pages, because none of the Je prens editions or arrangements are there, they are all here . . .
The Cabezon works may not be this exact work, just based on this work.
