According to the full score above, the "bass clarinet" (as specified in the roster) would most likely have to play on the contrabass clarinet because of the composer wanting the instrument to sound a ninth lower. In the score itself however abbreviated Cl. contrabasse (B♭) the part is written in bass clef in the same range as the bassoons, which proves the clarinetist would have to play a contrabass clarinet, rather than the normal bass clarinet.
